IAPE Board Member
Casey Miciotto began her career on the civilian side of law enforcement as the Executive Assistant to Sheriff Brett Hightower at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office in Bowling Green, Kentucky in 2019. After holding that position for over a year, she was given the opportunity to additionally become the agency’s Property and Evidence Technician. She is also a part of the agency’s civilian Crime Scene Processing Team.
Working closely each year with the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association, Casey learned about the IAPE and became a member and Certified Property and Evidence Specialist in June of 2021. In 2022, Casey helped implement Tracker Products’ evidence software, SAFE, into her agency. While the WCSO had an RMS system, evidence case files, including chain of custody, were still all pen and paper. Casey hopes to help establish a state association to further improve property and evidence practices in Kentucky, and offer law enforcement professionals the networking, training, and accountability that is needed.
Casey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychological Science and Biobehavioral Psychology as well as a minor in Neuroscience. She is an EMT-B and has obtained her Kentucky Basic II Firefighter Certificate. Casey is an avid runner and enjoys all things outdoors. She lives in Bowling Green with her husband, son, and their slightly ornery husky.
